Digital Engagement #1

  • My current online presence on google is not immense whatsoever, all that pops up when I search myself is my high school field hockey highlights. Which I’m very proud of, there are many accolades mentioned that were quite significant at the time and it’s a fun capsule to look back on. I think at the age of 19 it’s a good foothold to have in the door for a professional online presence.
  • Although I don’t have the desire to have a massive platform online, I do desire to
have at least other accolades besides sports as my personal brand by the time I’m finished with college. I want it to encapsule academic honors or a portfolio of something I’m passionate about by that time.
  • For now, I want my domain to show who I am as a student and act as more of a
business profile until I find a hobby or passion I want to showcase online. Seeing
this is my first time building a domain, I want to use it to get my digital knowledge up and practice using digital tools to then transition into a public business profile.
  • I’m not sure how the primary and sub domains work yet, but I’d really love to have a separate domain where I could showcase posters and digital art. I’ve always had a passion for creating aesthetics, for example all throughout high school I ran my field hockey teams Instagram page, and I’ve designed t-shirts for field hockey summer camps through the years and design all the flyers as well. I’d really love to take this hobby and idea and put it into creating a professional website or online portfolio to showcase my work. I don’t need it to gain influence I think it would just be a fun hobby to get started. The aesthetic I’d like to achieve is girly alternative/ “Pinterest” corner shop online and mostly vibrant colors like pinks that can be used for college aged girls to add to their apartment for fun decor.
  • The domain name I chose is kayleighsullivan.site or kayleighsullivan.net
